FAQ
How can I register for courses?
When clicking on the button “Sportangebot” (Sports Programme), you will automatically be redirected to the new course administration system. Here, you can check all of the courses currently on offer. You don’t need a personalized account for the registration. After selecting a specific type of sport by clicking on it, you can choose a suitable course in the table on the subsequent page. Check HERE for further information.
How can I de-register from a course?
You should make sure that you are able to participate in a course before registering for it. Cancelling your booking will only be possible as an exception to the rule. Please send an email to sportzentrum@ovgu.de or to hochschulsport@h2.de. You must also inform your course instructor.
The University Sports Centre (SPOZ) may charge a processing fee for cancelling your registration.
How can I change my personal information?
Only the University Sports Centre can update your address or bank account information. Please send an email to sportzentrum@ovgu.de or to hochschulsport@h2.de.
How do the waiting lists work?
Should you wish to participate in a course that is already fully booked, you can choose to register on the waiting list. Should a spot open up in your course of choice, you will receive an email. If you are still interested in participating and no other person has booked it yet, you can register for the course online or by following the link provided in the email.
Why has my account been shut down?
A new administrative software has been implemented in August 2020. Thus, a personalized account is no longer necessary and all pre-existing accounts were rendered obsolete and were deleted.
Is there a trial basis for participating in a course before registering for it?
Trial classes are not possible. Course registrations are necessary and binding. In case a scheduling conflict between your sports class and university courses should arise during the first two lecture weeks of a semester that makes it impossible for you to participate in the sports course, you can delete your registration free of charge.
What happens if I don’t attend the course without informing the instructor or the University Sports Centre?
It is our concern to offer sporting activities on a voluntary basis. If a registered participant does not attend a course during the first three course weeks, we will assume that they are not interested in participating in the offer on a voluntary basis anymore. The University Sports Centre therefore reserves the right to bar the participant from attending the course. Please inform the instructor as soon as possible if you are prevented from participating in the course for any reason during the first three weeks.
Can I rent course equipment on-site?
For most types of sport, the University Sports Centre supplies necessary equipment free of charge. For some types of sport, you can rent the equipment for a fee. You will find the respective information in the course description and on the registration pages. If any further questions should arise, you can contact University Sports Centre or the course instructor.
Do I need to present my student or employee ID?
The course instructor will check whether you are entitled to participate in the course by means of a registration list. You may be asked to present your student or employee ID to the instructor in order to verify your status as a member of the university.
